Women’s Daytime Classes Celebrate with the Care Center

Twice a year six Women’s Daytime Classes meet on weekdays for Bible Study and Small Groups here at the South Barrington campus.  After studying everything from books of the Bible, how to be a godly parent or seeking God through spiritual disciplines, each class ends the semester with a celebration and a compassion effort.

This Wednesday, Patti Kulpinski’s Difference Maker’s class held their celebration.  Having just finished studying the book of Judges, one hundred and eighty women gathered to share how God’s Word and their Women’s Small Group impacted their lives, helped them through difficult times and aided in their spiritual growth.

If you would have walked into room 392, you would have seen beautiful  decorations, tons of food, lots of chatting women and bags (and bags and bags!) of gently used or brand new clothing.  The women chose to support the Care Center’s new Thrift Store for their compassion efforts.  Jorie Johnson and Tyler Grissom were overwhelmed with the generous response.  There were clothes from infants to big boys – many items still had price tags! At least one of the women even hand-knitted a baby blanket to give to a deserving baby.  This was the perfect celebration with Discipleship and Compassion/Justice partnering to help others.  And the women’s lives were changed.
