Spanish Coalition for Housing Event

Without a doubt, the mission that the Lord has set for Casa de Luz is to help first and second generation Hispanics find hope and a sense of community. Beyond the spiritual guidance and support that form the foundation of the ministry, there is the desire to provide engaged assistance in practical, everyday needs. This was shown this past Saturday, December 3 when Casa partnered with Spanish Coalition for Housing and brought together an event held within Willow’s premises designed to help families facing foreclosure find options to keep their homes. As it turns out, not only Spanish-speaking families came to receive help and direction, but also English-speaking ones.

Casa’s staff is delighted to have aided more than just Hispanic families. The event started at 9 a.m. with a full house and actually went beyond its scheduled 2 p.m. ending time due unending arrivals. The person responsible on behalf of the Spanish Coalition provided the following feedback:

Dear Casa de Luz & Willowcreek Community Church,

Thank you for allowing us to have our quarterly “Keep Your Home” event at the Willow Creek Church. During the event, we were able to serve over 150 families and over 100 of these met the requirements to be able to meet face to face with the Loss Mitigation Team from their lender to discuss options to be able to keep their home.

The five lenders who were present were Wells Fargo, Citi, Chase, 5/3rd, and Bank of America and they were in awe at the venue. Now we will begin working with these clients and lenders to assure that there is follow through on both sides to get resolutions that are most beneficial for the clients.

We want to thank Willow Creek for their awesome hospitality and courteous staff. Kurt and Justin and his crew were amazing on this day. When we needed anything they made us feel as though we were a priority. In the history of Spanish Coalition for Housing, we have never been treated so well when utilizing a venue. It is our hope that we can continue the relationship to serve the communities of Willow Creek and Casa de Luz through the services we offer. We would be glad to assist in either promoting or marketing any events or programs Willow Creek and Casa de Luz offer. Spanish Coalition for Housing bears much gratitude for the opportunity to be able to have had our event at Willow Creek.

Sincerely,

Wanda Lopez
