Over 1,450 People Trained…And Counting

“God is lighting many new fires,” says Paul JVR, “and I love it!”

The Just Walk Across the Room training we had in our staff meeting was a gentle nudge to each of us on staff to be aware of who we could be reaching for God. After the training, we prayed that our congregation might be moved to attend Just Walk Across the Room so they might feel the same nudge.

The numbers are in from our accelerated training at the South Barrington campus, and about 650 people attended one of the sessions and about 75% of those people attended both.  If that wasn’t great enough, more than 60 children attended the kids version of the course!

But the Just Walk Across the Room trainings have continued beyond those two special weekends.

During a leadership team meeting after the first accelerated training, Paul JVR was sharing how powerful the Just Walk Across the Room session was. Some of Paul’s words struck a chord with Jake Smith, so Jake made the decision to present an opportunity to the AXIS community. On May 23, an ask was made of people at the AXIS Gathering: Will you stay a little later tonight to go through an advanced Just Walk Across the Room training. Over 100 people said yes.

• June 5–7: First 4 of 22 Just Walk Across the Room trainings given to Care Center volunteers. (Picture)
• June 6: Craig Springer teaches Just Walk Across the Room class to attendees at Willow Huntley.
• June 6: Paul JVR starts Just Walk Across the Room training as a part of Getting Started 401.
• June 10: Just Walk Across the Room class held at Willow Crystal Lake.

Added together, there have been over 1,45o actual people who have attended these trainings and been challenged by the curriculum! What great work God is doing in our church!
