In true Willow fashion, the Care Center’s expanding Health Services team experienced an “Only God” moment just a couple weeks ago. After each of the weekend services, on October 27 and 28, Dave Cimo hosted a meeting to recruit eye and dental care providers for the new day at the Care Center.
Dave began by telling stories of Care Center guests and then cast the vision for the full eye and dental clinics that will be included in the new Care Center facility. The services will be offered to those over 18 years of age, since services already exist for those under 18. The desire is not to be a long term solution for those served, but to care for people while they are in need. The dental clinic will be a four chair operatory. Services offered will include an oral exam, digital x-rays, cleaning, basic restorative work, extractions, if necessary, along with educational care. In the eye clinic, a full eye exam will be offered along with eye glasses with either single or bi-focal lenses.
After sharing the promise and potential of the next season of ministry at the Care Center, Dave asked those in attendance to consider how they could be involved in making this dream a reality. Enter the “Only God” moment. Ninety people expressed a desire to volunteer! The list of new volunteers includes four optometrists, five opticians, two ophthalmologists, 14 dentists, 11 hygienists, 13 dental assistants and 17 registered nurses who could fill this role, and four administrative volunteers. Another 20 people fit into miscellaneous categories, but are also interested in helping. Others in the group offered to donate expensive equipment and essential supplies and utensils. Only God could provide so far above and beyond what was expected. He is good!
Thanks for celebrating with us as He continues to demonstrate that He is faithful to provide more than we can think or imagine.
