It’s Raining in Zimbabwe!

5

This last weekend, our church was led in a prayer asking God to send rain to Zimbabwe. The last time that it rained in the Souther/Bulawayo region was November 25. But as of the time of this posting, it is currently raining all across the country. (Take a look for yourself.) And it’s supposed to continue raining on and off for the next week. Only God!

Here is a brief message about the weather situation in Zimbabwe from Paul JVR:

Everywhere we went in southern Zimbabwe, we saw dry and barren lands. That was a sharp contrast from the rich, fruitful ground in other regions. It was so obvious that these people were ready to plant their seeds. And the seeds mean so much to these people—they not only provide food for the family, but the sales of vegetables provide funds to send their kids to school.

Well, Israel asked us to pray and we truly prayed this last weekend! I love how God works!

Thank you, Paul, for your report of the beautiful, life-giving response of God to your prayers in Zimbabwe. And the photo – showers of blessing.

I sat next to a journalist at the service who is here writing a story about Willow for a publication in Paris, France. The reporter is a believer, however, France is not exactly a hotbed of Christianity. After Paul JVR led us in prayer for rain in Zimbabwe, the reporter leaned over and whispered, “I am going to be watching the weather now.” This afternoon, I sent him the link to the weather channel and I can’t help but wonder if this will end up in the story he writes. Who knows how this display of God’s power and the power of prayer will impact someone in France who is far from God?
