Celebration of Hope Results

What an incredible month it has been! Though there is still much to be done to bring hope for her, it is so encouraging to see our church’s response to the inequality and injustice women and girls face in much of the world.

3,224 people participated in the Willow Creek 5k Walk/Run, standing in solidarity with women and girls globally affected by poverty and injustice. Between our campuses, 16,070 people took time to compile 549,060 family seed packs and sealed them with 1,098,120 inches of tape. These packs will be shipped to Zimbabwe, where they will potentially produce 549,060,000 pounds of vegetables! The recipients of these seeds will now have a means of feeding their family and sustainable income.

During the Make Change challenge, thousands of you chose to make sacrifices, take on an additional job, or sell something in order to daily practice a lifestyle of compassion and justice. Stories have come flooding in of individuals and families that rose to the challenge and allowed it to change their spending habits and their lifestyle. The offering reached $1,015,731 and is still growing! Every dollar given will help in bringing clean water, nutrition and health care, education, safe shelter, and economic development to women and girls across Latin America and Africa.

Thank you so much to each of you who helped to make Celebration of Hope a reality. It truly was a team effort. From Promiseland to the facilities team, the whole staff pitched in. Whether your ministry directly contributed to Celebration of Hope or you participated with your friends and family, thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you.
