Camp Paradise Construction Update

0

While we have some major construction going on here at South Barrington with the new Care Center, did you know that the first property ever owned by Willow Creek is also undergoing a major construction project?

Camp Paradise, located in the upper peninsula of Michigan was the first property purchased by Willow in 1976. This fall, Camp broke ground on a new chapel. Each summer Camp Paradise hosts 600 dads—with either their daughter or son—for a five day experience of growing closer to God and to each other. The new chapel will be the cornerstone building where dads and their daughters/sons will gather together for worship and teaching each morning to provide an ideal environment to connect with God. This project, along with the building of six new cabins in the next few years, will set up Camp for the future and put it in the best position it has ever been in.

Tim, Erin, and Curtis Vanden Bos have been joined by 45 volunteers so far this fall and have put in 27 full work days. The foundation of the chapel and timber frame is now complete. Next, the team will start stick-framing and in-filling the walls and roof. Over 40 more volunteers will be at camp this week to help get this started. The goal is to have the roof on by October 6.

Please pray for great weather, safety, and a productive time for all involved.
