Mike Shintani is thrilled with the second Alpha retreat since launching last spring. Guests make movement, gain clarity, and make decisions throughout the 11 weeks of Alpha going on currently on Sunday evenings. However, the weekend away is traditionally where some of the hardest hearts towards Christ are broken down and softened. Just the other weekend, leaders and their groups all headed to Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles for a two day experience of learning and community and just plain fun.
“From initial reports, we’ve counted 18 people that made first-time decisions for Christ. In addition to that, there were 50+ re-dedication to Christ and Holy Spirit invitation stories. There were 130 people there, 100 which were guests. This is 2x more guests than our first retreat weekend. We learned from the first pilot and made a lot of tweaks and adjustments that made this 2nd retreat great.” Mike said.
